NOSTALGIA GRIPS NAGPUR AS C.P.S., AB’s TANAYA AND RATNASAMBHAV EMERGE AS THE BQC NATIONAL CHAMPS !

Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass’ students Tanaya Ramani and Ratnasambhav Sahu of Class IX made headlines on 7th December, 2014 when they were declared the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS of the Bournvita Quiz Contest by quiz master Mr. Derek O’Brian. The quiz contest was held at Purple Movie Town, Kolkata. Out of 3,500 schools from 100 cities across India, 16 top teams had qualified for the stage round. Apart from Nagpur, teams from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Trivandrum, Bokaro, Siliguri, Bhubaneshwar, Dehra Dun, Ambala, Durgapur and Goa had also participated in this prestigious quiz contest. Tanaya and Ratnasambhav’s hard work, dedication and the constant guidance given by their teachers Mrs. Gargi Das and Mrs. Karuna Hardas proved fruitful when they beat DAV Durgapur in the Quarter Finals and DAV Neral, Navi Mumbai in the Semi-finals, and DPS Bokaro in the finals and Army Public School, Ambala in the Mega Finals. Tanaya and Ratnasambhav’s excellent co-ordination and team-work proved to be the secret ingredients of their sweet success.

The children not only brought laurels to their school, but also to their city, Nagpur. It was for the first time that a team from Nagpur had scaled such a height.
A special assembly was held in the school premises on 9th December, 2014 to felicitate and congratulate the new National Champions. Directors, Mrs. Aruna Upadhyaya, Mr. Arun Dev Upadhyaya, Mrs. Radhika Rajwade, Mr. Jaisingh Rajwade, Mrs. Mukta Chatterjee and Mrs. Kana Roy Chaudhari; Principal, Mrs. Radhika Mehra, Vice-Principals, Mrs. B. Anuradha and Mrs. Perveen Cassad, the teachers and the students were in praise of Tanaya and Ratnasambhav and wished them success in their future endeavours. Ratnasambhav and Tanaya extended their thanks to their teachers, their parents and their friends for their guidance and support.
